The Story
"Hanazakari no kimitachi e" translates to something like "For you in full blossom". The story is about a 17-year-old girl named Ashiya Mizuki, who is a Japanese girl who was born in America. She admires a Japanese high jumper named Sano Izumi, and she decides to cut her hair and join an all-boys' school where he attends in order to meet him. Somehow she pulls this off and is able to attend the school while keeping the fact that she is a girl secret.
Mizuki is surprised when she finds out that not only is Izumi her classmate, but he is also her roommate. Mizuki soon falls in love with Izumi, and Izumi finds out that she is a girl and realises he also has feelings for her. It becomes more complex when Nakatsu Shuichi, a good friend of both Mizuki and Izumi, finds himself attracted to Mizuki, and thus believes he is gay because he doesn't know that Mizuki is a girl.
Other characters also come onto the scene which create a complex and humorous story. This story deals with a lot of romance and relationship problems in a detailed as well as humorous way. I find it to be a very interesting and great manga to read, and I'd recommend it to anyone.
